Prof. Wonwoo Nam Visited Our Lab

Prof. Wonwoo Nam (Ewha Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, Ewha Womans University, Korea) paid a visit in Wuhan university in Sep. 22nd, 2014, and were invited to give us an excellent reports entitled with “ Biomimetic Metal-Oxygen Intermediates in Dioxygen Activation Chemistry”. After the seminar, Prof. Aiwen Lei and students had a positive discussion with Prof. Nam.

Prof. Herbert Mayr Visited Our Lab

Prof. Herbert Mayr (Department Chemie, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) paid a visit in Wuhan University, in Sep 17, 2014, and was invited to give us two excellent reports entitled with “Mythology in Organic Chemistry: A Kinetic Analysis” and “From SN1 to SN2: Solvolysis Mechanisms Forty Years after Ingold and Winstein”.  Prof. Mayr is trying to develop a kinetic model for polar organic reactions, in which the positions of reagents in comprehensive reactivity scales indicate the relative reactivities of competing reactive sites and provide an estimate, whether certain reactions are likely to take place.

Dr. Emilio E. Bunel and Prof. Matthias Beller Visited Our Lab

Dr. Emilio E. Bunel (director of the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division,  Argonne National Laboratory) and Prof. Matthias Beller (director of the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, Germany) paid a visit in Wuhan University, in Aug. 29th, 2014, and were invited to give us two excellent reports entitled with “Bridging the Gap between Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysis at Argonne National Laboratory” and “Chemistry & Catalysis: From Creating Problems to Solving Problems”. After the seminars, Prof. Aiwen Lei and students had a positive discussion with Dr. Bunel and Prof. Beller. They have a significant impact on the International chemical field.
