Prof Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos Visited Our Lab

    Prof Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos paid a visit in Wuhan University, in May 27, 2014, and was invited to give us an excellent reports entitled with “Sustainable solutions to low-temperature hydrogen production: atomically dispersed supported metal catalysts”.  Prof Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos joined the Chemical Engineering Faculty of Tufts University as the Raytheon Professor of Pollution Prevention in January 1994. A focus of her work is the understanding of metal-metal and metal-oxide interaction at the atomic scale to guide the synthesis of new catalysts that maximize the yields of desired products, while using only trace amounts of expensive noble metals.

我院硕士生刘冬荣获武汉大学第八届“研究生十大学术之星”称号

自2014年4月15日评选活动开始以来,经过历时一个月的初评、复评和答辩环节,武汉大学第八届“研究生十大学术之星”评选工作于近日圆满结束,我院2012级硕士生刘冬成功入选。

根据武汉大学第八届“研究生十大学术之星”评选办法,本届评选经历各研究生培养单位初评、“十大学术之星”评选组委会复评以及候选人现场答辩三个环节。候选人的最终分数由复评成绩和答辩成绩两部分组成。我院2012级硕士生刘冬以136.38分成功评选为“研究生十大学术之星”。

刘冬同学自2012年9月保送至雷爱文教授课题组从事金属有机化学研究以来,一直致力于后过渡金属镍和铜催化的氧化自由基偶联反应研究。采用廉价易得的金属镍和铜为催化剂,有机过氧化物为氧化剂,实现简单的惰性Csp3-H键的活化与其它亲核试剂的氧化偶联反应,相关研究工作已经发表在化学领域国际顶级期刊杂志Angew. Chem., Int. Ed.(德国应用化学,影响因子:13.734)和Chem. Commun. (化学通讯,影响因子:6.378)上。

刘冬同学说到,此次有幸获得“研究生十大学术之星”,不仅是对自己前段工作的肯定,更是对自己今后工作的鞭策和激励。
